+1 на форуме они сказали что можно все не сносить.
Sorry, a bad appinfo was pushed out and this is causing the Linux client to hang. We have fixed the bad data and if you delete ~/.steam/steam/appcache/appinfo.vdf it will redownload the new data and fix the problem.
We'll have a new client shortly that will prevent this from happening again.
