There's nothing wrong with the question. Except the learners would choose something like «what is it called?», «what's the English for it?» etc.
But that doesn't matter much what set phrases to use. Really. Sticking to stale set phrases just shows confined capabilities of a learner. A master is free with the language and its tools.
