iptables + mangle

Блин !
на попытку сделать
iptables -A FORWARD -t mangle  -d 192.168.0.0/24 -j MARK --set-mark 20

вываливает
iptables v1.3.8: can't initialize iptables table `mangle ': Table does not exist (do you need to insmod?)
Perhaps iptables or your kernel needs to be upgraded.
хотя модуль подгружен

меня например смущает пробел в сообщении о ошибке перед закрывающией кавычкой

в messages есть что нибудь?
