Не обновляеться список пакетов в Debian

Установил Debian 8 LXDE и не могу обновить список пакетов.

root@debian:/home/drahenfels# apt update

Потом, к примеру, хочу установить Emacs и вижу

root@debian:/home/drahenfels# apt install emacs

E: Unable to locate package emacs
root@debian:/home/drahenfels#

Вывод: список не обновился. Я не сильно профессионал и не могу понять в чем проблема, help!

Так, видимо, этого пакета нет на этом CD. Нужно добавить источники в /etc/apt/sources.list . Дополнительные оптические носители добавляются через apt-cdrom. Локальные зеркала, полученные через apt-mirror, добавляются через «file:///». Сетевые зеркала прописываются как обычно.
