Problems with GRUB

I`ve tryed to setup GRUB, but some problems`re raised:

menu.lst :

title Linux
root (hd0,0)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.22-14-generic root=/dev/sda1 ro quiet splash locale=ru_RU
initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.22-14-generic
quiet

title Windows
root (hd0,4)
makeactive
chainloader +1

and when I try to check this out (Ctrl-Shift-Right Arrow in GRUB console), the first statement causes "Error 16: Inconsistent filesystem structure", and the second statement causes "Error 12: Invalid device requested". What`s wrong?
