ubuntu 8.10 + Pinnacle PCTV 330e

Собственно есть ноут HP 6720s и хочется на нём смотреть телек. ОС на нём - последняя альфа Ubuntu 8.10

ядро из дистрибутива:
$ uname -a

ставил firmware по рецепту:

#       2) Extract the file hcw85bda.sys from the zip into the current dir:

#       3) run the script:
#               linux/Documentation/video4linux/extract_xc3028.pl
#       4) copy the generated file:
#               cp xc3028-v27.fw /lib/firmware

установил tvtime, запускаем и видим, что изображение есть, а вот звука нет!
смотрим в логах и видим:

Меня вот очень напрягла строка
