Доброго времени суток! Недавно купил сабжевый принтер. Попытался прикрутить его к RedHat 7.3 Повесил на USB. Дальше все как в мане:
0. Transfer into super user mode. 1. Update your pre-installed ghostscript package.
#rpm -q ghostscript (check version to install) #cd /mnt/cdrom/linux/gs5.XX (XX is pre-installed ghostscript version) #rpm -e --nodeps ghostscript (uninstall pre-installed ghostscript, '--nodeps' option skips dependency check) #rpm -ivh --nodeps ghostscript-5.XX-xx.i386.rpm (install our ghostscript) 2. Insert ML Printer Driver CD-ROM to CD-ROM Driver.
3. Mount your CD-ROM Driver and copy the configuration file
#mount -t iso9660 /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom #cp /mnt/cdrom/linux/redhat71/Samsung-ML-1200-gdi.foo /usr/share/printconf/foomatic/data
4. Modify /etc/printcap file correctly. There is the sample printcap file in /mnt/cdrom/linux/redhat71. Reference it and modify your printcap file in /etc directory. 5. run printtool and restart lpd.
*. Redhat 7.1 changed 'printtool' to 'printconf', so install.sh in CD/linux/redhat doesn't work any more. You can downgrade the printconf to the printtool of Redhat 7.0, or manually configure your printer setting by above description. For detail documentations, reference the following web site.
