Нам всем нужна помощь друг друга. Все мы можем тыкать друг в друга пальцами и орать ерунду вроде:" Каждый айтишник должен шарить инглиш". Орать-то можем, а шарить? А помочь тем, кто шарит хуже?
Это экзамен да социальность.

Sure thing. Although you might also communicate to Product/Project Managers who are hardly can be named technical. These guys and gals should have a good language ;)
Also if you speak the language fluently mistakes are inevitable, but you don't stop or concentrate on them.

Is it not OK to call women «guys» anymore? As I heard in some movies, people often said «What are you two guys doing?» while there's no men in a room.

And, while this thread is still alive. Living in Germany, what language do you use most of the time? I've heard fast everyone knows English, and it's pretty usual for papers to have articles written half-english half-german. Are there any truth or that was a joke?

More like a myth or a joke. German is used all over. Of course a lot of new words come from English. Personally I tend to do technical discussion in English :)
For technical documentation and in international companies English is more common though. Comparing to other European countries Germans speak English quite well ;)
But in a big cities you can even find movies in English (with the suffix OV == Original Version), which I find quite good.

I must add here that young generation speaks English even better. I'd say that roughly 30-50% among them speak English quite fluently. You should also take into account that europeans learn at least two foreign languages at school, which makes it three with their mother tongue.

And take into account that almost all europian languages (except Maguar) are similiar. Not grammatically, but vocabulary.

True, they are closely related. That doesn't mean that you can understand other languages mastering only one :) Although I caught myself that I can _read_ Dutch (since I know German) and understand half of the meaning.

Jennifer Garner is correct: «snuck» is slang, and the correct past participle of «to sneak» is «sneaked.» Just because some word may be found in a dictionary does not make it proper English; it is merely a recognition that such word is used, properly or improperly, in the English language.
