============================================= Dear Mr. Richard Stallman!
I hope that GPLv3 can eliminate DRM threatment or other strikes to our freedom such as TiVo without restrictions for the programmers.
Now, everybody have been make a choice of GPL, could write software for any purpose. It is a freedom for developers. Therefore, proposed GPLv3 prohibition to write some kind of software, even DRM, may be incompatible with freedom. I think, there are not evil technologies, but only evil applying.
May be efficient if GPLv3 expand definition of source code to all the data needed to compile and run, include private keys to sign binaries for the TiVo or instructions to change hash in ROM? It does freedom to change or remove DRM part. If removing DRM from GPL software is impossible due violation of region law then distribution software in regions is impossible too. =====================
