First, how did Unigine come to be formed?
Together with Alexander Zaprjagaev (a CTO of the company) we have founded Unigine Corp. more than 5 years ago and from the very outset score to deliver top-notch 3D technologies to developers worldwide.
Why did the team decide to make an actual commercial game based on the Unigine technology?
Actually, it is very useful for an engine provider to eat its own dogfood: this way we are confident that we provide our customers with well-honed technology they need to create first-rate games.
How did the idea behind OilRush come about?
One fine day in March, it suddenly came to me that we should make a game with oil as a main resource - together with a pressing time factor. That's how the OilRush name appeared.
Here, in western Siberia where our development studio is located, sitting on the oil pump is considered to be the only true value. I strongly believe it is wrong: we need to develop other industries and alternative energy sources rather than mindlessly exploit the natural resources, which will be eventually depleted, possibly even during our life span.
Fuel devouring armies that fight over the last drops of oil and pollute already trashed world is nothing but doublethink. That is a warning environmental message we'd like to deliver in a single-player campaign.
What can you tell us about the fictional back story for the game?
In the post-apocalyptic world flooded by a raising ocean there are two things running short: oil and time. The last survivors in a desperate desire to seize control and dominate the enemy have started the naval warfare that turned the whole world into one large battlefield.
The key of survival in the ravaged world is to keep forcing the high-paced advancement of military technologies and never cease to introduce new types of combat units. In these harsh and cruel times, oil is thicker than blood.
What sort of defensive weapons do the oil platforms have?
Oil rigs have no passive defense, you need to keep some guarding units close by. There are production platforms that harbour the following defensive weapons: machine guns, artillery and rockets.
What kinds of units will be attacking the oil platforms in the game?
There are several types of naval and air units available in OilRush: the small sea scooter , the rocket boat, the heavy ship, the airplane and the helicopter. Plus there are two types of super-units: the Convertiplane and the Submarine.
What sort of multplayer modes will OilRush have?
Free-for-all , Capture the Flag and Domination
What other unique gameplay features will the game have?
OilRush offers mechanics of a classical RTS combined with a Tower Wars genre. Maintaining control over oil rigs is an extremely important and difficult task, especially when struggling against swarms of furious enemies that keep rushing on.
How does OilRush show off the graphical effects and features of the Unigine?
In the game, you'll find different sea locations with varied weather conditions, as well as highly-detailed combat units, spectacular special effects, devastating tactical nukes and other eye candies.
Are there plans for a playable demo for OilRush?
We plan to release a playable demo for all supported platforms prior to the official release of the game.

Мультиплейер (бесплатный) - захват флага и контроль за территорией.
В игре несколько морских локаций, разные погодные условия, спецэффекты, есть тактическое ядерное оружие и т.п.
Перед выходом игры будет доступна демо-версия.
