Coincidentally, just the other day I listened to a naive user’s horror at running “rm *” to remove the file “*” he had just incorrectly created from within mail. Luckily for him, a file low in alphabetic order did not have write permission, so the removal of everything stopped early.

Враки какето. Зачем чтобы удалить файл нужный права на запись в него? (По ссылке не ходилЪ)

$ rm *
rm: remove write-protected regular empty file `1'? y
rm: remove write-protected regular empty file `2'? n

Хотя тут фишка вовсе не в этом, а в файле '*'. Вспоминается как сам когда то гуглил на предмет того, как удалить файл '-'.
