Никогда ими не пользовался. Со свежими кедами, в отличие от свежих гномов, в Debian'е как раз проблем нет: http://debian-desktop.org/doku.php

Круто. А я старьё и всё, что не нужно, обычно удаляю.
Ну и пакеты из разных выпусков не смешиваю.
